ROBIN BOUSEL is a Tucson-based theatre artist, director, educator, producer, and arts leader with more than three decades of experience onstage and behind the scenes. She currently serves as Artistic Director of Winding Road Theatre, Program Director and Teaching Artist with Saguaro City Music Theatre, and Theatre Arts Educator at Kino School, while continuing to direct, perform, produce, and develop new work throughout the Tucson theatre community. Her work across acting, directing, musical theatre, production, and arts education allows her to bring students a practical, working artist’s perspective on the entire theatrical process.

Robin began performing in Tucson as a young artist through community and youth theatre programs before studying Theatre Performance at Northern Arizona University, where her training included acting, voice, and technical theatre. She later spent fourteen years in Chicago, working extensively within the city’s theatre community as a performer, director, producer, consultant, and creative collaborator.

Some favorite performance credits from recent years include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Macbeth, The Miss Firecracker Contest, [title of show], Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, Zanna, Don’t!, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Nunsense. Her experience behind the scenes is equally broad, including directing, musical direction, stage and production management, technical theatre, costume and scenic work, and the development and production of theatrical and cabaret programming.

As an educator, Robin approaches acting as both a craft and a means of discovery. She encourages young performers to develop concrete tools in voice, movement, character, emotional connection, collaboration, and storytelling while building the confidence to make bold, thoughtful creative choices. Her classroom combines technique with play, curiosity, and experimentation, creating an environment where young artists can take creative risks, discover their individual voices, and learn how to work generously as part of an ensemble.

Robin believes that the skills young people develop through theatre reach far beyond the stage—helping them become more confident communicators, imaginative thinkers, empathetic collaborators, and courageous storytellers.
