It’s SHOWTIME! Come together as a cast of characters and take a musical theatre journey through a Broadway musical. Bring it from the studio to the stage, learning about the style, the music, the movement, the story, and a little back story too!

Students will rehearse material each week, working toward a performance where they will not only build their individual understanding of the art form and their grasp on creative storytelling, but also learn how to express their ideas just as they would in a professional setting.

Participants will also learn that theatre is a team sport that takes a community working together to achieve success on the stage. At the end of the program, families and friends are invited to come watch and enjoy their hard work during a live performance!

"...this one was fabulously unique and heart warming-ly inclusive!  We couldn't stop smiling seeing all the kids perform at their highest ability--whatever that was.  Such a welcome change in what so often is the typically ultra competitive arena of theatre arts."

"CLEAN SLATE"
Class Full

This program is aimed at introducing the participants to the art of storytelling through music, movement, and text, providing instruction on what musicals are, and how to audition for them. Auditioning for school programs or community theatre can be daunting to many children, and our goal is to help them bridge that gap by building the skills and confidence needed to make possible what before felt out of reach. By the end of the program, each child will have the tools to do a vocal warm-up, have one audition song, sheet music in the appropriate key, and a rehearsal track to practice with at home. They will also get there own professional picture and resume.

SPOTLIGHT

SPOTLIGHT SERIES
RETURNS SPRING 2025

Musical theatre is all about singing, dancing, and acting - often, all three at the same time - so it’s important to know a little about each and feel confident about all of it. STUDIO ARTS will turn on the SPOTLIGHT, focusing on each of these skills one at a time. Learn how body movement turns into choreography, how voice and music meet to sing a song, and how actors use words and actions to tell a story. Expert instructors in each discipline will guide, offer new ideas, and help build confidence - as always -  in a positive, inclusive environment.

Sign up for this fun and informative 9-week course that will have you dancing in the streets, singing in the rain, and ready to tackle that monologue. Whether you are new to the performing arts, or have been doing it for years, each student will be challenged and met where they are at. Spotlight Series is the perfect way to “sing in” the New Year!

"There are very few inclusive arts programs in Tucson, so you are filling a need in the community."
