THE YOUNG WRITERS ROOM
(Ages 7-11)

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Tuesdays @ 9am

The Young Writers Room introduces students to storytelling through imagination, play, and creative collaboration. Designed for developing writers, this course builds confidence in written expression while exploring how stories can come to life on stage.

​

Through guided prompts, storytelling games, and simple playwriting exercises, students create characters, structure beginning–middle–end stories, and write dialogue for performance. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, listening skills, and age-appropriate peer feedback.

​

By the end of the course, students complete a short script or group story and may see their words shared in a companion performance class.

​

No prior writing experience required.

DIRECTING & GROUP STORYTELLING
(Ages 7-11)

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Tuesdays @ 10am

In this imaginative and engaging course, students discover how stories come to life through movement and stage direction. Through games, guided scenes, and collaborative activities, students learn how a director helps shape a story by guiding where actors move and interact.

​

Students explore stage space, teamwork, and expressive movement while building confidence and communication skills.

​

By the end of the course, students help create and share a short staged story, gaining a clear understanding of how stories move from page to stage.

​

No prior theater experience required.

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Wednesdays @ 9am

How do ideas become performances? In The Writers Room, students explore creative writing and playwriting in a collaborative, workshop-style environment. Students develop characters, craft dialogue, structure compelling stories, and revise their work while writing original short scripts designed for live performance.

Through guided instruction and peer feedback, students strengthen writing skills, reading comprehension, and storytelling techniques while learning how scripts move from page to stage.

​

By the end of the course, each student completes a polished, age-appropriate script and experiences the full creative process—from first draft to public reading.

No prior writing experience required.

DIRECTING FOR THE STAGE
(Ages 12-18)

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Wednesdays @ 10a

How do directors turn words into movement? In this hands-on studio course, students explore the fundamentals of theatrical directing with a focus on blocking and spatial storytelling.

Students learn to analyze scripts, make intentional staging choices, and use bodies in space to communicate character relationships and emotional impact. Emphasis is placed on leadership, collaboration, and clear communication in a rehearsal setting.

​

By the end of the course, students direct and block a short scene, applying foundational directing tools in a supportive studio environment.

In Be a Character, young performers discover how to bring stories to life using their voice, movement, and imagination. This beginning acting class introduces students to the foundational building blocks of character development in a fun, supportive environment.

SINGING TOGETHER

MOVIE MAGIC LAB
(Ages 8-11)

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Thursdays @ 9a

In Movie Magic Lab, students discover how stories come to life through the lens of a camera. This hands-on filmmaking class introduces young creators to the basics of visual storytelling, helping them turn simple ideas into clear and engaging short films.

Students learn how to plan a story or message, think about what they want an audience to understand or feel, and use camera angles, framing, and movement to communicate that story effectively. KIDS ON AIR

In Directing for Film, students learn how to shape a clear visual story using the fundamentals of filmmaking and camera direction. Designed for beginner-level students, this course introduces the core principles of visual storytelling, shot composition, and directing performers for the screen.

Students begin by developing a simple story, theme, or message they want to communicate. From there, they learn how to translate that idea into visual choices—selecting camera angles, framing shots, guiding performance, and planning scenes to create clarity and emotional impact. Emphasis is placed on intentional decision-making, collaboration, and understanding how each shot contributes to the overall narrative.

PROJECT PODCAST
(Ages 12-17)

1 hr/wk | 16 Week Semester | Thursdays @ 9a

In Project Podcast, students explore the art of storytelling through audio production. This course guides students through the full podcast creation process—from developing strong interview questions and researching topics to recording, editing, and producing a polished final episode.

​

Students learn how to conduct meaningful interviews, shape raw conversations into compelling narratives, and use vocal delivery to communicate tone and purpose. Emphasis is placed on active listening, story structure, audience awareness, and ethical communication. Students are also introduced to foundational audio editing techniques, learning how to refine recordings for clarity, pacing, and impact.

By the end of the course, students will produce and edit an original podcast segment that demonstrates strong interviewing skills, thoughtful storytelling, and technical proficiency.

Supervised Morning Social Time - Every day @ 8:30am

Breakfast Club is a supervised, welcoming space offered before the first class of the day where students can connect, talk, and build friendships in a relaxed environment. We recognize that peer connection and social involvement are an important part of a student’s growth—especially within a creative arts community.

​

This opportunity is offered at no cost and is completely optional, but we strongly encourage students to take advantage of this time to meet others who share similar interests and start their day feeling connected and supported.
